Hine Shrine and Jigenin Tahoto Pagoda

The honden (main shrine) at Hine Shrine is one of Japan’s foremost examples of the kasuga-zukuri style and it is designated as a cultural property by Osaka prefecture. In May, the “Pillow Festival (Makura Matsuri)” is held where people parade carrying colorful pillows tied to long bamboo poles. In July, the “Yu Festival” is held where a dance along with the local folk song “Goshaondo” is dedicated to the gods.
